History

The early work that led to InterGenetics’® later discoveries began in the late 1980’s at the Samuel Noble Research Foundation in Oklahoma.

In 1993, the work moved to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) in Oklahoma City where the initial research team advanced the science from the genetics research level to identifying the multi-gene algorithms that would become InterGenetics’® core science.

In 1999, InterGenetics® Incorporated was established through a technology license granted by OMRF. Grants from the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST) and the Presbyterian Health Foundation (PHF) provided additional momentum to further the company’s research. Patents were granted for the company’s proprietary science in the same year and InterGenetics’® first commercial product—OncoVue® Breast Cancer Risk Test — was developed.
